What Does Driveway Cleaning Involve?
Driveway cleaning removes suitable surface grime and organic buildup from the agreed driveway area. We assess concrete or paving, worn areas, joints and visible stains before choosing the cleaning setup. Your estimate lists the measured area, access needs and any separately quoted oil or rust treatment.
Your Quote Can Include
- Driveway material and surface-condition check
- Cleaning of the agreed parking area and edges
- Attention to algae, moss and loose surface debris
- Discussion of separate oil or rust treatment
- Drainage planning and coordinated vehicle access
Concrete, Aggregate and Pavers Are Different Jobs
A broom-finished concrete driveway, exposed aggregate and interlocking pavers each have different weaknesses. Cleaning pressure and technique must respect the surface. Loose stones, weakened joints and aged sealers should be identified before work.
For pavers, washing can disturb joint material. Re-sanding and sealing are not automatically included in driveway cleaning. We explain whether those tasks might be needed and keep them separate in the quote.
What Happens to Oil, Tyre and Rust Marks?
Routine washing often improves surface dirt but cannot guarantee removal of material that has soaked into porous concrete. Old oil, rust from metal planters and tyre marks can remain after the area is clean. A specialist treatment may be appropriate after assessment.
Do not expect repaired sections or different concrete pours to become the same colour. We discuss the likely finish first, especially when a driveway has patches, wear or a coating that is already lifting.

Preparation and Water Management
Move vehicles so the full work area is available. Clear pots, bins and stored items where practical. Let us know about a shared driveway, limited street parking or a slope that sends water toward a garage.
Runoff from a stained driveway needs planning. We consider nearby drains, plants and adjacent property rather than treating dirty wash water as an afterthought. Commercial oil-contaminated areas may need specialist containment beyond ordinary residential cleaning.
Keep Entrances and Walkways in the Same Plan
A driveway clean can be paired with front steps, a pathway or a patio for a more consistent finish. List those areas so the measured scope and price are clear. Roof and gutter work can be completed before final ground-level washing.
For a shaded driveway, monitor new growth and drainage between visits. A cleaned surface can become slippery again, particularly where water lingers. Cleaning supports maintenance; it is not a permanent anti-slip treatment.
Measure the Entrance You Want Cleaned
The main driveway, extra parking bay and narrow strips beside the garage can add up differently from a simple length-times-width estimate. Mark the areas you want included and note where vehicles can be moved. We review slopes, garage thresholds and nearby planting so the wash follows the layout. Deep staining and worn concrete are discussed early, allowing you to compare routine washing with any additional treatment.
Duncan driveway cleaning can be paired with front-path washing; Nanaimo and Ladysmith hillside drives need careful access and drainage planning. For Langford, Colwood and Victoria properties, tell us about shared driveways and street access. The $0.40–$0.70 per-square-foot guide and $200 minimum help with budgeting, while the written estimate sets the cost for your actual surface.

Compare All Service PricesHow We Prepare Your Driveway Cleaning Quote
The total area, slope, surface material, access and stains determine the quote. Include connected paths or parking pads if you want them cleaned, and tell us about recent sealing or concrete work.
Send your address, photos and the surfaces you want cared for. We will explain the options and prepare an itemized estimate with the method, finish, price and visit details clear. For larger or complex properties, a walkthrough can help define the complete work.
